i was up at 5 am looking through my closet.
i tried on a tarantula costume
and eight arms were overwhelming
i never even knew what to do with my own pair.
i tried on a ghost costume
and realized i had no one to haunt.
i tried on a dinosaur costume
and felt incredibly lonely.
i tried on a deer costume
and i went outside
frolicking in my front yard
not caring about the paper boy watching
not caring about anything actually
it was the happiest i’ve ever been.
