& promptly dumping it on the floor
supposedly for the dogs
but they’ve been stuffed & petrified

i can wear a square smile
that’d look nice to greet the neighbors
the mailman
some girl’s parents
i’ve been practicing
keeping a jenga block lodged in my mouth
for 3 hours a day
for 15 years
i’m well-groomed despite my multitude
of curling dead cells
all over
my perfectly alive body
so much so
that i’ve been collecting all my trimmings
for 15 years
in hopes of winning the coveted title
